artist friendly ricky hil

More Artist Friendly is on the way. Following conversations with Cameron Diaz, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, and Vishen Lakhiani, Ricky Hil will join Joel Madden on the latest episode of the series.

As the son of famed designer Tommy Hilfiger, Hil has been tasked with carving out his own space within music and culture. In the 2010s, he turned to emo rap, creating a murky sound that helped to influence GothBoiClique — namely Lil Peep. The duo even made a couple of songs together, which remain unreleased. In a conversation with Madden, the rapper explores his lifelong relationship with music and fashion, the complex process of self-realization, and the work ethic he learned from his father.
