Turnstile’s GLOW ON era was huge, but their imminent new album, NEVER ENOUGH, is proving to be just as widescreen. During their first interview about the LP with The New York Times, the band revealed that they made a video for every song, and they’ve shared another preview called “LOOK OUT FOR ME.”
The visual, directed by Brendan Yates and Pat McCrory, takes place in their hometown of Baltimore, where Turnstile recently played a massive free show that raised over $35,000 to benefit local nonprofit Healthcare for the Homeless. It’s only a piece of a short film that will premiere at NYC’s annual Tribeca Festival on June 5, arriving a day before the album’s release. As for its sound, “LOOK OUT FOR ME” is another slice of feel-good hardcore that’s limitless in scope and inspiration. The track is nearly seven minutes and transitions into a house rave-out toward the middle, featuring Maestro Harrell from The Wire reprising dialogue from the hospital scene of S4E12.

“The music we make is not necessarily defined by the sounds — it’s defined by the people,” Yates told The New York Times. “If the music is not reflective of the people, then what is it?”
Up next, Turnstile will play a release show on June 5 at Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn, joined by Teezo Touchdown, Boy Harsher, and Big Boy. They’ll also hit a handful of festivals, including Primavera Sound, Outbreak, Aftershock, and more.
