Earlier this year, Rocket signed to Transgressive/Canvasback and reissued their Versions of You EP, which blended alternative rock, power pop, and indie into bonafide anthems. Those songs wore their ’90s influences proudly, and today the rising Los Angeles four-piece are back with “One Million,” recorded at Foo Fighters’ Studio 606.
“‘One Million’ is about wanting someone to meet you halfway but not knowing if they ever will,” the band say. “It’s the feeling of doing everything you can, going above and beyond for someone, knowing that you would wait a million years for them just to notice how important they are to you. It’s the hoping that maybe you are as important to them as well. It’s learning to be OK with the fact that you might always love them more.”

Rocket will go on their debut U.S. headline tour, beginning in October, and tickets are on sale Friday (May 16) at 10 a.m. local time. Additionally, the band will join Mannequin Pussy for a handful of EU dates throughout May before heading out on their own U.K. headline shows in June. Then they’ll return to the U.K. in August for dates with the Smashing Pumpkins.
