In the years since 2021’s XInfinite Granite, Deafheaven have been touring hard, sharing stages with Knocked Loose, Coheed and Cambria, and Touché Amoré. That’s set to continue, as the post-metal five-piece just announced their new album, Lonely People With Power, out March 28 via Roadrunner Records.
The LP was recorded with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen and mixed by Zach Weeks of GodCity Studio. There are also a couple of guest appearances from Jae Matthews of Boy Harsher (“Incidental II”) and Paul Banks of Interpol (“Incidental III”), but today they’re sharing the ultra-heavy single “Magnolia” with a music video. Directed by Sean Stout and Chelsea Jade, the artful, black-and-white performance visual captures the pummeling intensity the band have continued to refine since their formation in 2010.

Deafheaven will also play a handful of festivals later this year, including Sonic Temple, Welcome To Rockville, and Outbreak. A press release promises that more tour dates will arrive in the coming days.
