Following 2023’s Brand New Soul (one of the best albums of 2023) on their own Pop Wig Records and releases on Roadrunner, Angel Du$t have signed to Run for Cover.
“It was just so organic and natural,” bandleader Justice Tripp says. “As long as I’ve been involved with music, the RFC people have been friends to me and have been showing me the ropes, but I always kind of thought AD just wasn’t their bag and never thought about asking them about putting out our music. Then when it finally came up, it just seemed like the most obvious right fit for us. I just hold them in such a high regard, and stylistically they obviously do a lot of different stuff, but I think it really makes sense: They’re creative, alternative, sometimes heavy — just like Angel Du$t.”

Their first release for the label is The Beat seven-inch, which is out now digitally. They made it with previous collaborator Brian McTernan, and Taylor Young (of God’s Hate, Twitching Tongues, etc.) adds vocals to the title track. The digital version has one other song, and there’s also a third, vinyl-only track, a cover of Bugg’s “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” featuring Scott Vogel of Terror. The band are on tour starting in August and through the fall, including dates with Fleshwater, Ovlov, and Narrow Head, as well as a set at CBGB Festival in Brooklyn. See all dates below.
