More on Yellowcard
Back in 2016, Yellowcard announced their impending breakup following a final album and world tour.
“We wanted to have the chance to share our farewell with as many fans around the world as we could, and now is the right time to do just that,” the band shared.
“When saying farewell, it is hard to know where to start, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it, but the time has come to share this news,” said the band in a unified statement. “After countless discussions and months of thought, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end. This will be our last album and our final world tour.”
The self-titled album dropped in September 2016 with a tour kicking off shortly after. The band played their final two gigs earlier this year in March in Los Angeles and Anaheim.
Before closing the night in Anaheim with “Ocean Avenue” singer Ryan Key delivered a heartfelt speech to the sold-out crowd.
“Each and every one of you deserve a personal thank you from us. I wish we had time to do that but you know how much we love you and you know how much we’re going to miss you. From all of us here, from anyone who’s ever been a part of this band, worked for this band, behind this band, we are all so grateful to you for your love and support. It is now time that we say thank you for almost two decades of rock and roll. We’re going to say goodbye to you tonight here in Anaheim, California for the very last time.”
