Wisp played her first Coachella last weekend, where she ran through a handful of favorites (including last month’s “The Sword”). Toward the end of her otherworldly set, she debuted two songs from her upcoming debut album, and one of those, “Get back to me,” is out today.
The track begins delicately before expanding into pedal-warped heaviness, all while maintaining the medieval visuals that’ve accompanied her fresh era. It’s completely mesmerizing but also reflective of harmful patterns and the uneasiness that follows. “‘Get back to me’ represents the greed for chaos, even at the cost of yourself,” Wisp says. “It’s about staying in a place you know isn’t good for you, yet you’re in a seemingly unbreakable cycle of going back, which portrays desperation, recklessness, and limerence.”

She’s largely been making the LP with Max Epstein of Photographic Memory, who worked on her 2024 Pandora EP. “I’m sticking to the ethereal, fairy tale-esque stuff [that] circulates around Greek mythology, the mermaids and the angels, and I really want to incorporate more mystical creatures into my music, which will be fun to experiment with,” she told us during a cover story interview.
Wisp will return for the second weekend of Coachella on Sunday. Then she’ll appear at Bonnaroo and Kilby Block Party before joining System of a Down on their stadium tour. See her upcoming shows here.
