Show Me the Body are coming up on a decade of their debut album, Body War, which they surprise-released and let fans download for free in 2016. It’s the project that launched them out of the NYC underground, preceded by a pair of lo-fi EPs that collaged hardcore, noise rock, and hip-hop. They’re celebrating those roots by releasing an anniversary edition vinyl of Body War and a newly recorded version of “One Train,” a standout from 2014’s Yellow Kidney (an EP that remains hard to track down; SMTB put it on Bandcamp for 24 hours in 2020, but it eludes DSPs).

“One Train” arrives with a fresh video, directed by frontman Julian Cashwan Pratt and CORPUS collaborator Asha Maura. Shot in Rome, the visual pays homage to the original, capturing Pratt and his daughter, Surey Maura, with his Kung Fu teacher David Kaplan. They train, catch up, and roam the streets, both interpolating and recreating scenes from the 2014 video. It’s a tender and thoughtful way to come full circle, playing out like old friends reminiscing and recognizing how far they’ve come.
