Rise Against have released a fierce new single titled “Nod.” The song is the first new music from the Chicago-based punk rock band since their 2021 album, Nowhere Generation.
“I swear to God this can’t wait,” Tim McIlrath warns, as the hook hits its climax. The notably progressive, politically active band have long since utilized their craft and platform with change and justice in mind. While the previous album upheld these sentiments, “Nod” previews Rise Against’s next chapter — where they’ll push the message even further.

That being said, the message isn’t one that incites anger. Rather, what Rise Against hopes is that we’ll all replace reaction, with action. “’Nod,’” McIlrath explains, “is about the solace we find in community. It’s about the comfort in knowing that we are not alone. This comfort can temper our anger and our frustration, at least temporarily.”

The band hits the road again this month — touring across the EU and U.K. with support from L.S. Dunes and Sondaschule. Come September, they’ll take on the U.S. once again, co-headlining with Papa Roach on Rise of the Roach Tour. All tour dates here.
