Pool Kids went through hell to make their 2022 self-titled album. Since then, they’ve toured extensively, hopping on runs with Militarie Gun, Joyce Manor, and Sunny Day Real Estate. Now, the Tallahassee-bred band will release their new LP, Easier Said Than Done, out Aug. 15 via Epitaph Records.
“There’s a lot of Florida imagery and a lot of really specific glimpses from tour on this album,” vocalist Christine Goodwyne says. “By letting myself get specific, I feel a lot more emotionally connected to the songs. It’s a very personal record for me and for the whole band, too. I was writing about what life has been like for all of us over the last few years. I feel like all of us can relate to a lot of the songs.”

The band just shared the title track, a coolly delivered statement about being swallowed by anxiety that builds to an explosive end. “OCD can just rob your life of joy,” Goodwyne adds. “Things can be going so well, and then it just sucks any enjoyment out of it.”
In September, Pool Kids will hit the road in support of their latest record, bringing along Truth Club and PONY. See those dates, along with the video for “Easier Said Than Done,” below.
