Mayday Parade have announced Sugar, the final album in their trilogy following Sweet and Sad, out July 24.
Sugar will mark the conclusion of the band’s 20th anniversary celebration — over the past two years, they’ve written, recorded, and released nearly 30 songs as part of their two decades as a band. Sweet represented Mayday’s energetic side, Sad leaned into introspection, and Sugar is a culmination of both.

Previewing the album is “Weekend Music,” a song that renewed the band’s confidence in creating meaningful, high-quality music even after 20 years together.
“When we began working on Sugar — part three of a three album release — I started to get concerned that we had overextended ourselves,” vocalist Derek Sanders says. “That the good ideas had run dry and needed more time to replenish. ‘Weekend Music’ is one of the songs that came together and put me at ease. It has the catchiness and complexity that I was looking for. It feels good to be able to create a song that we’re proud of so deep into our career.”
Mayday Parade will be performing at festivals throughout the year, playing sets at Warped Tour, Four Chord, and Aftershock.
