Jane Remover started the year off with “JRJRJR,” the first single from their forthcoming third album Revengeseekerz. Turning away from the bleary shoegaze of 2023’s Census Designated, the song embraced the headrush of their digicore sound.
Remover’s latest song, “Dancing with your eyes closed,” follows in those footsteps, commencing a glitched-out rave that culminates in a wicked hangover. The track comes with a video, directed by Remover and Noah Sellers, that aims to disorient, rippling with the energy of a packed underground club. Remover is at the center of it all, losing themselves in the chaos, taking swigs from a bottle, and trying not to be blinded by the perpetual strobe.

“When an album comes out, it’s told from the voice of the age that I was making it,” the shapeshifting songwriter/producer said in a 2024 interview with AP. “It’s kind of a time capsule of what I was making at 17, 18, and 19… The music is very much a slow burn — but it doesn’t age because it just captures what I wanted to do at that time.” It gives us a good idea of what to expect with Revengeseekerz, arriving via deadAir later this year.
Remover will take the songs on the road in April, stopping by more than a dozen cities on the Turn Up Or Die tour. Their first-ever headlining run includes support from dazegxd, d0llywood1, and Lucy Bedroque on select dates.
