Following the devastation of the LA fires, there has been a bevy of benefit shows, pop-ups, and auctions to offer relief to locals. Good Music, a series of limited-time benefit comps devised by Dave Eggers and Jordan Kurland in 2020, is joining the cause with a new 90-song project called Good Music to Lift Los Angeles.
The compilation — spanning new songs, covers, live versions, remixes, and demos — will only be available for 24 hours on Bandcamp, beginning Friday (Feb. 7) at midnight PT. The artists who contributed are diverse, including Blondshell, Chelsea Wolfe, Death Cab for Cutie and the Postal Service, Faye Webster, Friko, HEALTH, Interpol, Manchester Orchestra, MJ Lenderman, Modest Mouse, Momma, Perfume Genius, PUP, R.E.M., Soccer Mommy, Spiritual Cramp, Tenacious D, Toro y Moi, TV on the Radio, Water From Your Eyes, and many more.

“We only had a few weeks to put this compilation together and are absolutely humbled by the contributions,” Kurland says. “Music is a healing force, and we hope this collection of songs, in addition to raising much-needed recovery funds, provides some solace.”
All proceeds will benefit locals affected by the fires through the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the LA Food Bank. Additionally, Bandcamp will donate 100% of its share of the sales to MusiCares to support the city. Find more information here.
