After spending September playing unannounced club shows across the United States, Foo Fighters have dropped a surprise live EP with recordings from those performances. Foo Fighters Are Playing Where ???? Vol. 1 will stream exclusively on Bandcamp, coinciding with the return of Bandcamp Friday.
According to Bandcamp, the EP was recorded in 2025 at shows at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, California, The Observatory in Santa Ana, California, Black Cat in Washington, D.C., and Toad’s Place in New Haven, Connecticut. All proceeds from the pay-what-you-want EP will benefit local charities fighting food insecurity in the four cities where the band performed.

The first surprise show was performed at the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo, California, where Foo Fighters debuted their new drummer, Ilan Rubin, after he swapped roles with Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese.
