Ecca Vandal has announced her new album, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, out May 22 via Loma Vista Recordings. The full-length follows a massive year of opening for Deftones, Limp Bizkit, and Pierce the Veil.
“The systems, the trends, the illusions of connection,” Vandal says. “I find empowerment in being loud and noisy, especially as a woman in this global moment who grew up in a culture that told me I could not be those things.”

“SORRY! CRASH!” is the latest preview, following “MOLLY,” “BLEACH,” and “CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE.” LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW was recorded and produced by Richie Buxton and Vandal in Buxton’s childhood bedroom, creating a home studio that turned into a “haven” away from the industry and internet.
“We cut out everything that didn’t serve us — the timelines, the metrics, the pressure to ‘stay visible’ online,” Vandal explains. “We started making things with our hands again — tangible, imperfect, and real. We wanted to celebrate longform, the idea of an album as a whole body of work, while the world was chasing 15-second snippets and algorithm-friendly noise.”
This month, Vandal will make her debut at Coachella ahead of supporting Deftones on their Australian tour and a summer full of festival performances around the world.
