Dave Shapiro, co-founder of Sound Talent Group, died in a tragic plane crash early this morning (May 22) in San Diego’s Tierrasanta neighborhood, his agency confirms. The influential music veteran was one of several people killed, including Daniel Williams, the former drummer for the Devil Wears Prada.
“We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues, and friends,” a spokesperson for Sound Talent Group says. “Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today’s tragedy. Thank you so much for respecting their privacy at this time.”
Shapiro was reportedly piloting the aircraft, and there were no survivors. According to CBS8, the crash destroyed parts of the residential area, damaging at least 15 homes and multiple vehicles.
