Though it was initially conceived to tide fans over between full-lengths, Metallica’s Garage Days Re-Re visited EP was ultimately far more than mere product for the metal marketplace. Raw, raucous and an absolute joy to listen to loud, this handful of boisterous covers by Diamond Head, Killing Joke, Misfits and more was both a rousing reaffirmation of Metallica's underground roots, and a healthy sign of life from a band still recovering from the sudden tragic death of bassist Cliff Burton the previous fall.
